Public benefits

The direct benefits are that the residents of Lissan and surrounding districts have a welcoming secure premises where people of all ages in a rural isolated area can come together, find companionship, make new friends and engage in a range of educational, recreational and leisure activities so that their lives are improved and that they feel less

alone and less isolated. Other voluntary groups who use the hall also benefit from the fact that the Association ensures that it is safe, warm, welcoming and accommodating. The benefits can be demonstrated by the numbers of individuals using the facilities and by the numbers of other voluntary organisations booking the hall for their activities. There is no harm arising from the purposes of the Association. The charity's beneficiaries are the inhabitants o Lissan and surrounding districts and other community organisations who now have a premises fit for their purposes. There is no private benefit flowing from these purposes.

The organisation carries outs its purposes by managing and holding the lease of the local Parish Hall. They also assist other voluntary organisations to provide social and recreational facilities for people within the area of benefit. They maintain their premises and seek funding for ongoing renovation and restoration.

Charitable purposes

The organisation is established to manage and hold the lease of Lissan Church Parish Hall. They will associate with local statutory authorities and other voluntary organisations to ensure that the inhabitants of the Parish of Lissan and surrounding areas will have access to a meeting place and to a range of activities in the interest of social welfare for recreation, education or other leisure time occupation with the objective of improving the lives of the said inhabitants.
