Public benefits
The direct benefits that flow from the organisation’s purposes are i) the contribution to the spiritual and mental health of the young people taking part in these retreats; ii) the contribution to the overall well-being of the local communities affected by the youth ministry formats set up in their locales; iii) the overall sense of achievement and
well-being and confidence building that results when young people help to develop local strategic plans; iv) the contribution to the self-confidence and self-esteem of the young people involved; v) the knowledge and training gained by the young people as a result of the audits and training involved in the retreats; vi) the moral improvement in society that religion encourages. The benefits identified above can be demonstrated by i) the number of young people who go on to co-facilitate other retreats, and who give witness to their deepened faith in their schools and workplaces and by the collection of regular feedback from participants, parents and teachers in the form of questionnaires, evaluation forms and focus groups; ii) the feedback we receive from local communities after youth ministries are set up in their communities; iii), iv) and v) the feedback we receive from parents and the youth themselves after they have been involved in this work vi) the feedback we receive from the people in parishes and local communities after we have been involved in their parishes and local communities. There is no harm arising from any of the purposes. The charity’s beneficiaries are primarily the young people between the ages of 10 and 30 who take part in these retreats and their local communities. There is no private benefit flowing from any of the purposes.
