Public benefits

Direct benefit is the development of a sustainable rural community, directly tackling issues that are causing disadvantage and poverty. We support good community development practice and support groups and individuals to maintain voluntary activities within the Village. Working with various funders to address the issues that affect the village and

surrounding areas. The low levels of crime, and vast range of available essential social services indicate the benefit of the Ballymagorry Development Group. The increased opportunity to volunteer and socialise within the Ballymagorry community. Increasing services to the people in the area in a safe environment. There is an increase in participants therefore there is a decrease in rural isolation through educational and recreational facilities. There is increased awareness of support available for the local people of Ballymagorry area. These benefits are evident through the increased standard of living for the people who live in the area. It is also evident by the increased use of these service provided and the growing number of people becoming involved with the community in a volunteering capacity. There is an increase in services provided to the local community through the volunteers. There is the opportunity for feedback from the participants. There is no potential harm from any of the purposes. The charity beneficiaries are the local people of the Ballymagorry area. The only private benefit flowing form this purpose is that the people of this group may live in the Ballymagorry area and will be able to avail of these services with no preference to them or any other member of the public living in that area.

What your organisation does

The group works towards Increasing access to services for the people of the Ballymagorry area, by working with statuary bodies and to decrease levels of isolation and increasing the quality of life for the residents of the area. These benefits are evident through better health& well- being by attendance at workshops and the walking club,

encouraging recreational/social activities in this rural setting, ensuring there are services and facilities provided to all members of the Ballymagorry area. The people of this area benefit from relevant training opportunities. We enable the local people of the Ballymagorry area to come together in a safe environment to meet and socialise, reducing rural isolation. The development group work in partnership with other bodies to ensure these facilities are kept to a high standard of operation. Increased training and educational courses for the local people of the area.in turn this increases the quality of life for the local people. The benefits are evident through the quality of the environment, the low levels of crime, and vast range of available essential social service Enables community development by providing facilities, support and information for the local community, to become more sustainable and obtain relevant funding, educational and recreational facilities. There is increased awareness of support available for the local people of Ballymagorry area. These benefits are evident through the increased standard of living for the people who live in the area. It is also evident by the increased use of these service provided. Benefits for the local people of the area who are seeking volunteer opportunities. It also benefits the wider community providing greater chance for opportunities for the area. These benefits are evidenced through the increased number of people becoming involved with the community in a volunteering capacity. There is an increase in services provided to the local community through the volunteers.

Charitable purposes

2.1.To relieve poverty, sickness and the aged and to promote the benefit of the inhabitants of the village of Ballymagorry, district and its environs (hereinafter described as the “area of benefit”) without distinction of age, gender, race, political, religious or other opinion, by associating the statutory authorities, voluntary organisations and inhabitants in a common effort to advance education, and provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation or other leisure-time occupation, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants.
