Public benefits

To advance the education of the beneficiaries by the provision of safe and satisfying group play public benefit statement: the trustees believe that both elements of the public benefit requirement are satisfied. The direct benefits flowing from this purpose are that children at this stage have a safe, healthy and stimulating environment in which

they can learn through play and that each child will be helped to develop their own unique set of qualities and talents to their full potential. These benefits can be evidenced by feedback from the parents, by the detailed observations and assessments carried out by staff and by the external inspections from the education department and social services. The purpose of the pre-school is beneficial and there is no harm flowing from the purpose. The beneficiaries of this purpose are the children who attend the playgroup. The preservation of the health of the beneficiaries; public benefit statement: the trustees believe that both elements of the public benefit requirement are satisfied. The direct benefits that flow from this purpose are that beneficiaries receive a healthy snack during their session which encourages healthy eating at a young age, parents/carers are informed of any health-related information relevant to children at this stage and the pre-school liaises with social services and other health officials in regards to making the health and development of the children a priority. These benefits can be evidenced by feedback from parents, records kept of the children and also by external inspections by social services and other health officials. The purpose is beneficial and there is no harm. The beneficiaries of this purpose are the children who attend the pre-school. (ii) to support the vision and values of early years- the organisation for young children Supporting the values and principles of early years; public benefit statement: the trustees believe that both elements of the public benefit requirement are satisfied. The direct benefits flowing adherence to these principles are that children at this stage have a safe, healthy and stimulating environment in which they can learn through play and that each child will be helped to develop their own unique set of qualities and talents to their full potential. These benefits can be evidenced by feedback from the parents, by the detailed observations and assessments carried out by staff and by the external inspections from the education department and social services. The purpose of the pre-school is beneficial and there is no harm. The beneficiaries of this purpose are the children who attend the playgroup. (iii) in relation to all of the above, a private benefit to trustees and staff may arise from training in good governance, finance, child protection, first aid, etc. Through this training, skills and experience are acquired which are transferable to other settings. These benefits are incidental and necessary, because to ensure standards of care are achieved the training must be fulfilled and certificates received on completion must be put on public show.

What your organisation does

a) To advance the education of the children/beneficiaries attending, the Pre-School follows the NI Pre-School Curriculum in the learning provision delivered to the children attending. B) Supporting the vision of The EarlyYears organisation, all the staff team have completed the necessary qualifications as determined by the Education Authority and

Health & Social Trust. Training is on-going to ensure changes in legislation are implemented. Inspections are carried out on the provision by HST and The Education Authority to ensure a high quality service is delivered and maintained. ( Development Plans Attached) C) To pursue areas of funding that can be obtained to enhance the provision provided.

Charitable purposes

The company's objects are specifically restricted to the following: to promote play based learning environments for all children under statutory school age (hereinafter referred to as the beneficiaries) of Monkstown, Newtownabbey and its surrounding environs in County Antrim (hereinafter called the "area of benefit") without distinction of age, gender, marital status, disability, sexual orientation, nationality, ethnic identity, political or religious opinion, by associating the statutory authorities, community and voluntary organisations and the inhabitants in a common effort to advance education , and in particular: a) to advance the education of the beneficiaries by the provision of safe and satisfying group play, with the right of parents/carers to take responsibility for and to become the preservation of health of the beneficiaries b) to support the vision and values of Early Years- the organisation for young children (hereinafter called Early Years) as outlined in Appendix 1 c) to advance any other exclusively charitable purpose as the directors may, from time to time, decide in accordance with the law of charity.
