The charity's beneficiaries are the community and voluntary sector and general public of Limavady and its environs. The direct benefits flowing from our purpose experienced by our beneficiaries include a stronger community, an increased sense of place, improved equality of opportunity, increased levels of volunteering, greater civic pride, reduced

isolation, improved health and wellbeing, greater knowledge of community cohesion, reduced social isolation, improved community relations, increased skills, increased confidence and increased knowledge. The benefits stated can be evidenced through feedback from beneficiaries, impact assessment tools, government statistics and annual reports. We believe that these purposes will lead to no clearly identified harm.

What your organisation does

The activities undertaken to achieve our purpose are delivered by the following projects: Our Recycle Project is an environmental project aimed to divert furniture from landfill, to promote reuse and recycling and prevent fly tipping by matching quality preloved furniture with the needs of our beneficiaries. Our Garden Centre Project is run as a

partnership between LCDI and the Western Health & Social Care Trust, provides a day opportunity for adults with learning disabilities. Our wrap around school provision is a cross community after schools project providing wrap around out of school quality childcare for 24 children. Our Playgroup provides quality early years pre-school educational provision five mornings a week from 9-11.30am for 24 local children. Our family Centre provides a programme of work designed to support families develop their relationships and explore new opportunities to increase their health and wellbeing. Our flexicare project is a client led befriending service which supports older persons (65plus) remain in their own home for longer by addressing the issues of social isolation and loneliness. Our respite programme provides regular respite for local carers. Our Good Morning project delivers a daily telephone call to older people to ensure their continued connectivity to the local community. Our luncheon club meets three times per week to provide a nutritionally balanced meal with an additional social activity for local older residents. Our Advice Centres deliver independent generalist and debt specific support and guidance. Our Volunteer Centre provides developmental support to existing and new volunteers and their host organisation. Our E.Q.U.A.L project is an employment and training programme which provides developmental support for adults living with disability.

Charitable purposes

The Charity’s objects (“Objects”) are specifically restricted to the following:- To promote the benefit of the inhabitants of Northern Ireland ( the “area of benefit”) without distinction of sex, sexual orientation, age, race, ethnicity, or political, religious or other opinion by associating with the statutory authorities, voluntary and community organisations and inhabitants in a common effort to: (a) advance community development by providing facilities and amenities for, and support and assistance to, community and voluntary groups and organisations (b) advance health and well-being; (c) prevention and relieve poverty; (d) prevent or relief of poverty (e) advance education; (f) provide relief to those in need by reason of youth, age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage; (g) Advance community arts, culture and heritage; (h) Advance community conflict and promote peace and reconciliation (i) Advance environmental protection or improvement (j) Provision of facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and other leisure time occupations with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said residents (k) promote such other charitable purposes as may from time to time be determined.
