The direct benefits which flow from : The prevention or relief of poverty include: Helping unemployed people find employment: and the provision of education, training and retraining opportunities and work experience, especially for unemployed people. Improvement of living standards and quality of life of the residents of the Ardoyne area and their

families. The advancement of education include: Enhanced education and understanding, increased skills and knowledge base; acquiring basic life skills such as literacy, numeracy, citizenship, personal development; the capacity for life long learning supporting the physical education of young people; and participation in training courses or other educational activities which improve quality of life. The advancement of health or the saving of lives include: Improved physical, mental and emotional well-being by attracting recreational facilities, the provision of public health facilities and childcare. The advancement of citizenship or community development include: providing and supporting recreational/community centre facilities in areas of social and economic deprivation for the benefit of the residents at large: the maintenance, improvement or provision of public amenities: the provision or assistance in the provision of recreational facilities. The advancement of the arts, culture, heritage or science include: The educational value associated with creative education activities that advance education for the public benefit. The advancement of environmental protection or improvement include: Improving of living standards, and so quality of life of residents of Ardoyne area and their families. The relief of those in need by reason of youth, age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage include support to Organisations that provide for the care and upbringing of children or young people in deprived areas. Strategic advice and administrative support to associated local Community Organisations in socially and economically deprived areas, who provide; workshop units; public recreation facilities, help to unemployed people, provide charitable services and activities in various community facilities, and supporting formal and informal education activity. Directly promote and organise a wide range of Arts activities to facilitate the improvement of the quality of life for individuals living within the Ardoyne area and the wider North Belfast Area, including cross community School Choir competitions, and public musical events celebrating talents within the local communities. Maintenance officer facilitates the operational safety, maintenance and operation of premises accessed by beneficiaries of associated Charity, Community and Other Organisations, who are undertaking programmes or activities resulting in the achievement of the BBC Limited objects. The purposes do not give rise to any harm. The beneficiaries of purposes are the citizens of Northern Ireland with particular, but not exclusive responsibility for the inhabitants of North Belfast including the wider community in the Ardoyne area. While some private benefit may flow from BBC Ltd purposes, decisions of support for such activities would only proceed on the basis that they are a necessary, but incidental element of the charitable purposes, notably: the provision and use of the educational and recreational facilities or through the promotion of activities to support third party charities/organisations who employ staff to manage the activities in the facilities; the use of the training establishments for industry in the Ardoyne area which records high levels of unemployment; the opportunity of adding educational value to those embarking upon training for employment in industry; facilitating the improvement of the quality of life for individuals living within the Ardoyne area.If a Trustee has a Conflict of Interest with any Related Parties they would withdraw from the relevant Trustee meeting and take no part in the discussion or approval of the relevant issue

Charitable purposes

The promotion for the public benefit of urban or rural regeneration in areas of social and economic deprivation in Northern Ireland and in particular in North Belfast by all or any of the following means but not solely limited to the following means: the relief of poverty in such ways as may be thought fit; the relief of unemployment in such ways as may be thought fit, including assistance to find employment by the provision of practical support to unemployed people including by way of but not limited to accommodation, child care facilities or assistance with travel or by the provision of advice and training to unemployed individuals concerning employment, self-employment and the establishment of co-operative enterprises and the provision of CV writing, job search and job club facilities for them; the advancement of education, training or retraining, particularly among unemployed people and providing unemployed people with work experience; the provision of financial assistance, technical assistance or business advice or consultancy in order to provide training and employment opportunities for unemployed people in cases of financial or other charitable need through help (i) in setting up their own businesses or (ii) to existing businesses including the provision of capital grants or equipment to the new businesses; the creation of training and employment opportunities by the provision of workspace, workrooms, buildings and/or land for use and occupation or at rent less than the prevailing market rent value or through the means of a rent subsidies by the Company; the provision of housing and the renewal of housing stock, either directly or through Housing Associations and other bodies with similar aims, for those who are in conditions of need and the improvement of housing in the public sector or in charitable ownership provided that such power shall not extend to relieving any local authorities or other bodies of a statutory duty to provide or improve housing; to provide or pay for items, services and facilities to ease the suffering or assist the recovery of people who are sick, convalescent, disabled or infirm. To provide grants of money and to provide or pay for items, services and facilities for the relief of the poor. the maintenance, improvement or provision of public amenities; the preservation of buildings or sites of historic or architectural importance; the provision or assistance in the provision of recreational facilities for the public at large and/or those who, by reason of their youth, age, infirmity or disablement, poverty or social and economic circumstances, have need of or for such facilities; the protection or conservation of the environment; the provision of public health facilities and childcare; the promotion of public safety and prevention of crime.
