The benefits that flow from the organisations purpose are the advancement of Education through recruiting and training volunteers in a variety of roles. Educating people on their rights in relation to those areas of NI Legislation which directly affects them. The protection and preservation of health through supporting those with a physical &
Mental disability. Maximising the income of all clients in need. Reducing levels of stress & anxiety. Signposting to specialist organisations when required. The relief of poverty sickness and distress through providing quality advice on managing debt, tax relief and other practical support such as maximising income. Providing advocacy at Tribunals. All of the above will be demonstrated by annual reporting of the number of volunteers recruited, the number of clients seen and the amount of income maximising. The amount of debt managed for clients using the service. Annual client and stakeholder surveys reported to the Board Staff & Volunteers. The purposes do not give rise to any harm. The beneficiaries are the citizens who live in the Council District Newry, Mourne & Down. A private benefit to Trustees of the Board is Training provided in Good Governance, Finance and Human Resources. Through this training Trustees gain experience and skills which is transferable to other settings. These benefits are incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries. A private benefit to individual volunteers may rise as a result of their basic training. Volunteer gain many skills and lots of experience which are transferable to other setting. Many volunteers go to further education or gain employment as a result of volunteering with the organisation.

Community Advice Newry Mourne & Down provides Free Confidential Accessible and Impartial Information & Advice to clients from the District Council area of Newry Mourne & Down.Trained staff and volunteers help people resolve debt, benefit,housing, employment,consumer, tax problems regardless of race,gender, sexuality, age, nationality, disability
or religion. The service is delivered by trained staff working from our two locations Ballybot House in Newry and Ballymote centre Downpatrick. We also deliver the service from Outreach Clinics across the District. There are a number of methods used in the delivery of the service: Face To Face Appointments , Telephone Advice ,email advice and online advice.Part of the service delivery is to signpost clients to other organisations with their full consent to other organisations who are best placed to meet their need. We also provide a specialist advocacy service which supports those clients needing representation at Tribunals mostly in relation to over payments and loss of a benefit. Finally all staff and volunteers in the organisation challenge and champion and promote social policy through local media, social media and by contributing to any policy documents complied by the Regional Organisation.This is turn is used to influence policies and services both locally and regionally.
