Public benefits
The direct benefit which flows from this purpose is improved health and general wellbeing for the beneficiaries, all of whom have different needs. By providing the finance for specialist equipment and services, the beneficiaries physical, emotional and physical needs are being partially met. For example, the purchase of trikes has helped some of
the beneficiaries with their coordination and others with dexterity in their hands. Other equipment and activities provide and/or promote stimulation and the social aspect of outings and other recreational activities are important for the emotional wellbeing of all of the beneficiaries. These benefits are evidenced through feedback from the staff in the Centre and also from the beneficiaries directly. Some beneficiaries are able to articulate what they would like and others are not able to speak but the professionals who provide the day care are able to communicate to us what is of benefit to the service users. The purposes of the charity do not lead to any harm only of benefit. The beneficiaries are adults with a learning disability who are service users of Drumross Adult Centre. There is no private benefit flowing from this purpose other than that some of the beneficiaries are related to some of the trustees. Any private benefit is part of our charitable purpose.
