Public benefits

The direct benefits which flow from the purpose of Pobal ar a'n Iúl include increased support for Irish language learners and speakers in the Omagh area, increased opportunities for Irish speakers to learn and practice the language, more events, groups, companies operating through Irish, more support for those wishing to raise a family through

Irish and increased representation for the Irish language community. These benefits are evidenced through increased audiences for groups, clubs, events and activities, increased media coverage and oral and written feedback from those engaging with our services. The purposes of our charity could lead to a young person or adult potentially being injured while taking part in some of our activities. This harm will be mitigated by taking appropriate Health & Safety measures, ensuring staff and volunteers are adequately trained, and preparing risk assessments in advance of activities. Such incidents are rare, and the harm is outweighed by the benefits. The beneficiaries of Pobal ar a'n Iúl's activities are the Irish language community in the Omagh area including children and young people, adult learners of Irish, fluent speakers, those interested in the language and the general public. The charitable purpose of the organisation may lead to benefits for local businesses. This is incidental and necessary.
