Public benefits

The benefits are that the organisation provides opportunities for people to come together and share their knowledge and skills so as to enhance members lives. This is demonstrated by the increase in membership, popularity of the activity groups and by the positive feedback that is gathered from activity group members. The in-house facilitators are

also benefiting from taking the activity sessions and the opportunity to share their skills, which can be very rewarding. All activities are open to every eligible member of the community and the purpose does not give rise to harm. All members which includes the facilitators. There are no personal benefits obtained by trustees and or facilitators.

Charitable purposes

The purposes of Ballymoney U3A are to advance education and in particular the education of people not in full time gainful employment who are in their Third Age (being the period of time after the first age of childhood dependence, and the second age of full time employment and/or parental responsibility) residing in Ballymoney and its surrounding locality.
