Public benefits
The benefits which flow from purpose 1 include: An appreciation of various types and styles of music. Social interaction with people from all sections and age groups of our community. The building of confidence to appear in public. Physical well being through dance and movement. The benefits are evident through the majority of senior members
renewing their subscriptions and the number of new applications each year. The youth section numbers have to be restricted annually because of the large number of applications. Weekly attendance is recorded with good rates of attendance. Testimonials from the public and nominations for National awards. There is no harm arising from the purpose. The charity's beneficiaries are its members through participation in events and also members of the general public who attend their musical productions. The Society also offers it services to organisations raising funds for other charities. The only private and incidental benefit of this purpose is the development of knowledge, skill and talent for individuals who go on to work in professional theatre.
