Public benefits
'During the Maoist conflict in Nepal the Umbrella Foundation (working with the Child Welfare Board) rescued 350 orphaned and displaced children from the streets of Kathmandu. For the last ten years the Umbrella has housed, fed and educated these children. More than 300 of these children have now graduated from school passing and in some cases
earning Distinctions on the SLC (Senior Leaving Certificate). Working closely with UNICEF, the Umbrella worked to reunite most these children with their parents in the villages of Nepal and many Umbrella children are now back in their villages regenerating their villages and working to prevent/reduce further trafficking of Nepali youth. There is no private benefit flowing from any of the purposes.
