Public benefits

The direct benefits which flow from the purpose include provision of language classes to Russian speaking children and any other interested persons. RSCNI aims to introduce and promote the multinational Russian culture for the benefit and enjoyment of everyone living in NI, thus educating the wider public and ultimately leading to better

understanding of different cultures, cultural diversity and community cohesion, as such adding diversity and colour to the NI society. RSCNI hopes to address the sense of social isolation faced by the Russian speaking people living in Northern Ireland as an ethnic minority, and to help ease the adaptation and integration in cultural and social life of Northern Ireland. It also hopes to foster community spirit, promote mutual understanding and civil involvement through the exchange of information, participation in multi-cultural and cross-community activities and projects aimed at the development and enrichment of cultural diversity for the benefit of all the people of NI. These benefits are evidenced through: - participating in and organising events which include folklore music, dance and traditions of multinational Russia to Northern Ireland; - implementing and developing of the Cultural Learning Centre "Zhar-Ptitsa"; - organising and developing of the community choir "Rossinka". There is no harm arising from any of the purposes. The charity's beneficiaries are Russian speaking people living in Northern Ireland, as well as general public interested in Russian language and culture. There may be private benefits mainly related to choir conductor and teachers. These benefits are incidental and necessary to ensure benefit provided to our beneficiaries.

What your organisation does

RSCNI manages two main projects: Community Choir “Rossinka” and Culture and Learning Centre “Zhar-Ptitsa” in Belfast Area. Young people 12+ and adults attend choir rehearsals twice a month where they learn Russian, Ukrainian and Belorussian folk songs. Children 2+ attending Culture and Learning Centre learn cultures of Kazakhstan, Ukraine and

Belarus in addition to Russian culture and language. RSCNI preserves culture and heritage of multicultural Russia through arts and crafts workshops, singing rehearsals, social and cultural events, language classes, training for adults and taking part in local multicultural events. P.S. We feel that we need to review our constitution and therefore our Charitable purposes will change from 6 stated above to one only.
