Developing a social justice perspective of the social, economic and political environment in Ireland; -Increase in the range of working relationships between political ex-prisoner groups, and their related constituencies, on a cross community and cross regional basis. -Greater understanding of the dynamics of conflict and the integral aspects of

non-violent peacebuilding. -More realistic understandings developed amongst young people of the benefits of an open and inclusive society and the importance of being able to accept and live with difference. -Improved relationships between various stakeholder groups in society and the political ex-prisoner constituencies. -Delivering capacity building training and support to the current membership of the Teach na Failte to enable them to engage in Peace-Building, Community Development and Current Politics and becoming active citizens; -Providing the necessary support for members participating in local democratic, civic society, workplace and community & voluntary sector structures; These benefits can be evidenced by a reduction in unemployment and an increase in opportunities for employment, Better access to training and capacity building, take up of services and entitlement to Welfare Benefits, A reduction in Anti Social Behaviour, A reduction in Community tensions particularly at interfaces, A reduction in contentious parades, Greater community relations, Greater peacebuilding and reconciliation within the North of Ireland, A more peaceful society within the North of Ireland There is no harm arising from these purposes. The Charities beneficiaries are: Ex-Prisoners Ex-Prisoners' Families Young People Wider Society There is no private benefit.

What your organisation does

Teach Na Failte will deliver educational, advice, training and employment programmes from offices in Strabane, Derry, Bellaghy and Belfast. It is playing an enabling role to give voice to personal and historically important experiences, helping to heal the past divisions and lobbying for social, economic and cultural rights with equality of

opportunity. Teach na Failte aims to build on progress to date and deliver on a future strategy arising from work previously undertaken, the ongoing support, welfare, guidance, community development and peacebuilding work of Teach na Failte, the development and delivery of additional activities and programmes to sustain and develop further the peacebuilding and community engagement efforts of Teach na Failte to build an inclusive and shared, fair and just society.

Charitable purposes

Teach Na Failte was established to provide support, encouragement and aftercare to ex-prisoners and, in particular, to provide facilities and resources to enhance educational and employment opportunities as well as improving health, well-being and re-integration into their families and communities. It is a constituted recognised registered charitable organisation with an over-seeing Management Committee.
