... [more] [less]What your organisation does
The organisation carries out its purposes by identifying needs for educational or healthcare facilities and resources, preparing projects with a view to addressing these needs, raising funds to finance the projects and then engaging with the suppliers, contractors, workers etc. for the procurement of the materials and labour required to carry out
the project. This may involve working wholly with suppliers and workers local to the project or sending teams of volunteers to assist with the project work. Where a building has been constructed the charity will work with local organisations and authorities to facilitate the equipping and bringing into use of the building for the purposes identified as needed at the outset of the project. A sustainable plan for the ongoing use of the building must be in place before it is fully handed over to another organisation. In the absence of this the charity may supervise directly the operation of the facility until it is able to transfer operational control. The Trustees at their discretion may recommend the payment of ongoing grants to the projects completed by the Charity.
