Public benefits

The public benefits arising from our purposes are: a) The spiritual growth and deeper Christian experience of those who attend our Meeting for Worship and other events that we organise to support the spiritual development of the Meeting and its members and attenders. b) Improvement in the circumstances of individuals and groups whom we support

through practical action with charities such as Quaker Service which works with prisoners and their families and mothers and teenagers living in disadvantaged areas of Belfast. c) Greater public awareness and understanding of a Christian approach to peacebuilding, sustainability, social action, education, spiritual growth and other concerns that we support financially and practically. d) Meeting of the spiritual and physical needs of individuals in our Meeting, with assistance to those in need being provided by legacy funds that have been left to the Meeting. These benefits are evidenced through: a) the number of members, attenders and visitors who attend and the number who participate actively in our Meeting for Worship. b) the amount of donations that we make to charities working on the relief of suffering, by the time spent by our members in volunteering and taking part in activities that provide relief to those who are suffering from disadvantage and the positive evaluations of these activities. c) amounts of donations that we agree to collect from our members to support a number of different charities in Northern Ireland and further afield and by the amount of time that we spend on supporting these activities. d) spiritual growth of our Meeting and improved circumstances for those in need within our Meeting The above purposes do not lead to any harm. The beneficiaries are: a) all those who attend our regular Sunday morning Meeting for Worship which is open to all members of the public and other events that we organise. b) the individuals and groups who benefit from the activities that we engage in. c) members of society in general and the individuals and groups who benefit from the charities that we support. d) members and attenders of our Meeting There are no private benefits arising from the above purposes except for the possible private benefit to trustees, who would benefit as any other beneficiary, from legacy funds left for distribution for those in need. This is incidental and necessary for the purpose.
