Public benefits

The direct benefits which flow from the purpose of girlguiding ulster are to promote the education of girls and young women to help them develop, emotionally, mentally, physically and spiritually so they can make a positive contribution to their community and the wider world and develop their full potential. Girlguiding is a girl led charity,

taking its direction from the evolving needs of our young members. We give girls a voice - in the charity, in their communities and in the world. Young people are actively involved in shaping their own programme of activities both locally and regionally within our youth participation framework The benefit to girls and young women is that they will have increased confidence, they will learn new life skills, will gain leadership skills and learn how to work as a team. The wider benefit to the community at large is enhances social education and responsible citizenship that flows from the purpose. These benefits are demonstrated through the feedback provided by young people and the voluntary leaders in girlguiding units, reviews by youth council statutory youth services government departments and independant evaluations of training, programmes and events. There is no harm flowing from the purpose of Girlguiding Ulster. The beneficiaries are the girls. There is no private benefit.
