History Hub Ulster act as a facilitator to link members of the community to like-minded historical projects and groups in Ulster. History Hub Ulster also act as a signpost for members of the public to find historical groups, societies and projects in their local area. We put family and communities at the centre of the historical narrative.
History Hub Ulster engage with contemporary methods of presenting research using open source methods in the digital arena. While history is often confined within museums and books, the idea is to make our history accessible to all those online and to the Irish diaspora. History Hub Ulster engage the communities of Ulster with their history by pursuing interesting and innovative projects which enhance the individual's understanding of their shared heritage. History Hub Ulster aim to provide expert knowledge, speakers and research using associate partners and members. We aim to forge partnerships with like minded organisations and community partners. History Hub Ulster aim to promote and produce projects and partnerships which are engaging to all members of the community and to instill a sense of pride in their ancestors’ achievements. History Hub Ulster demonstrates its benefits via the work that we undertake. This work can be historical articles, historical projects, historical research and expert knowledge. The accessible nature of our work provides a gateway to enhanced public understanding of history and culture to all sections of the community. Innovative community focused projects excite individuals and groups, who benefit from interesting and educational projects which connect communities together. We enhance a person's understanding of their shared heritage; explaining the tools to research their own culture. This benefit is met by enhancing knowledge and creating confidence in a person's ability. This instils a sense of pride and creates the courage needed by an individual to start or take part in sometimes difficult conversations about the past. A deeper knowledge of the past and it’s influences on today’s society creates a sense of inspiration, improved community cohesion and advances citizenship. History Hub Ulster firmly believe that there is no harm to anyone arising from our group's purposes. Our beneficiaries are adults, ethnic minorities, ex-offenders and prisoners, general public, interface communities, men, older people, parents, sexual orientation, voluntary and community sector, volunteers, women. History Hub Ulster firmly believe that there is no private benefit flowing from the group's purposes. Where necessary, incidental expenses may be claimed from individual projects carried out on a not for profit basis.
