Public benefits

We provide play based learning for children under statutory school age in Carrickfergus and the surrounding area. The benefits include advancement of the education of the children through provision of a wide range of stimulating play to encourage positive interactions with peers in group situations; increased involvement of parents in their

child’s learning through the opportunities and support which we provide; provision of many activities in line with the six areas of learning - Personal, social & emotional, physical development, language development, early maths, the arts & the world around us, which increases abilities in these areas; development of the children’s personal skills through a range of group activities encouraging positive interactions and the building of friendships with peers; promotion of language development, health & well being. Benefit is demonstrated via verbal & written feedback from parents & children. We are also inspected annually by Social Services and every five - seven years by ETI. Inspections by environmental health are also carried out. Attendance figures have increased and we now run two classes each year. There is no harm arising from any of the purposes. Beneficiaries are the preschool children and their parents/carers. There is no private benefit flowing from any of the purposes.

At Greengables Preschool we are committed to providing a quality play based learning environment where each child is guided and nurtured to enable them to reach their full potential. At all times we encourage parents to become involved in group activities thus encouraging a link between home life and preschool life for children and their families.

We provide a safe and caring environment supporting the pricipals of early years education.

Charitable purposes

The Group is established to promote play based learning environments for all children under statutory school age (hereinafter referred to as "the beneficiaries") of Carrickfergus and its surrounding environs in County Antrim (hereinafter called "the area of benefit") without distinction of age, gender, marital status, disability, sexual orientation, nationality, ethnic identity, political or religious opinion, by associating the statutory authorities, community and voluntary organisations and the inhabitants in a common effort to advance education and in particular: a) To advance the education of the beneficiaries by the provision of safe and satisfying group play, with the right of parents/carers to take responsibility for and to become involved in the activities of the group; and to promote the preservation of health of the beneficiaries; and b) To support the values and principles of Early Years.
