Public benefits
The direct benefits which flow from our purposes are: the advancement of religion by providing teachings and gospel readings; reaching out to people from outside the Christian faith; providing teachings of the bible and nurturing those who confess it; promoting Christian values and service to the community for the benefit of society. These
benefits can be demonstrated by the feedback and appreciative comments from many of those who attend and gain help and encouragement; the number of people who regularly attend services and participate in church life. There is no harm arising from any of our purposes. The beneficiaries are the general public from the community in which we live who choose to participate in our activities and services. There is no private benefit from our purposes.

The purposes of the Church of God in Cullybackey are carried out by: a) The worship of God the Father in association with the Breaking of the Bread communion service b) Continuing 'steadfastly in the apostles' teaching and fellowship, in the breaking of bread and prayers' (Acts 2:42) c) Preaching the gospel of God concerning his Son, Jesus Christ
(Matthew 28:19); to make disciples and to teach them His commands d) Holding, as a body of divinely revealed truth, 'the whole counsel of God' (Act 20:27), otherwise known as 'the faith' (Jude 3), and declaring it to others e) Meeting regularly for prayer (Acts 2:42) f) Meeting regularly to share the truths of Scripture so as to edify one another to spiritual growth (Acts 2:42) f) Promoting awareness of the importance of the Word of God and of its relevance to human experience h) In individual and corporate life to promote love to God and to our neighbour, including a variety of charitable purposes, consistent with the teachings of Jesus Christ (Matthew 5-7). We also have fellowship with the other Churches of God in NI in having Bible Study Days and classes, Teaching Conferences, Youth Camps, and Outreach activities for the spread of the Gospel. We are also able to support financially through the giving of the church members our full-time church workers, outreach and relief work throughout the world where there are Churches of God (many in third-world countries), and all national/international events organised by the Churches of God.
