The direct benefits that flow from these purposes include: the increased recreational and educational opportunities provided to residents of this interface community, and the reduction in social isolation, increased social cohesion and social inclusion experienced by local residents due to the services provided by the Association; the positive

effect the Association’s services have on the wellbeing of local residents, especially amongst vulnerable groups, older people, local children and their families. The opportunities provided to local residents living within an area of high economic disadvantage and multiple deprivation to learn work related skills and increase their employability; the improved community safety, and enhanced community relations resulting from the Association’s activities within this interface location and the positive effects this has on the wellbeing of local residents. These benefits can be demonstrated from the feedback received from the local residents, surveys, and reports on the outcomes of projects, the Association's annual accounts and the annual reports There is no harm arising from any of the charity's purposes. The charity's beneficiaries are residents within the Twaddell Avenue and Upper Woodvale areas and their surroundings of North Belfast. There is no private beenfit flowing from any of the purposes.

What your organisation does

The Association runs a community facility 'TheCabin' on Twaddell Avenue, Belfast from which it provides workshops, clubs, and educational and recreational classes and activities for local residents, children, senior citizens and families living within this interface location of North Belfast. The Association assists local people who are

unemployed or otherwise economically disadvantaged providing employability support including opportunities to gain work related training and qualifications and signposts residents in need to other local services and advice. The Association undertakes activities to promote community safety and community relations within this interface location.

Charitable purposes

The Charity's objects ('the Objects') are to promote the benefit of the residents of the Twaddell and Upper Woodvale area and its environs without distinction of age, sex, sexual orientation, race, ethnic identity, political, religious or other opinion by cooperating with statutory authorities, voluntary and community organisations and residents in a common effort to: (1) provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and other leisure time occupations with the object of improving the conditions of life for the residents in the area of benefit; (2) relief those in need by reason of youth, age, ill health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage; (3) advance education and arts and crafts; (4) safeguard and improve conditions and advocate on behalf of such residents; (5) promote and initiate projects and activities which will benefit such residents; (6) promote good community relations, religious and racial harmony and equality and diversity.
