Public benefits
Purpose 1: The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include people learning new skills and continued good health. Purpose 2:The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include giving local older people a safe environment to socialise, make new friends and take part in an Active Living programme, thus improving their quality of
life. Purpose 3:The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include informing local people of the needs of older people and relating their stories, encouraging people to be more aware of the older neighbours or people in the local community. Purpose 1:This benefit is evidenced by members taking part in health related programmes, informing members of access to various services etc. Purpose 2: These benefits are evidenced by the attendance of the beneficiaries at the club and feedback from them in our local church hall on a regular basis. The beneficiaries are consulted about the planned programme and are actively involved. The beneficiaries enjoy the social interaction. Purpose 3: This is evidenced by the support from the general public when we are organising an event or fundraising. It encourages new members to come along. We do not anticipate any harm leading from the purposes of our charity. The benefit is for older people in the Killyclogher area. There is no private benefit other than people becoming more informed and aware of the needs of local older people. These benefits are incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries.
... [more] [less]What your organisation does
Our organisation meets monthly and provides a safe environment for local older people to come along and enjoy friendship and fellowship. We attend meetings and information sessions about services available for local older people and work closely with South West Age Partnership, the local older people's network. We provide information through
various organisations that attend out monthly meetings. We seek grant aid and fundraise to run outings, provide specialised equipment and activities.
