Public benefits

The direct benefits flowing from the purposes of our organisation are the over 50's in our area have an opportunity to learn how to keep themselves well and fit. They also learn about healthy eating, exercise and how to keep their minds active by participating in our classes, courses and talks. Our members have the chance to meet on a regular

basis where they can socialise and benefit from each others company thus reducing isolation. The benefits can be demonstrated by feedback from our members after a series of classes or after individual talks/lectures. We offer feedback sheets and regularly have sessions where we discuss what people have enjoyed most and what people would like to change. We can also demonstrate the benefits by the numbers attending each of our events/activities. There is no harm arising from the purposes of this organisation. The Charity's beneficiaries are members of the public from the Coagh village and surrounding hinterland particularly those over 50. The only private benefit is payment to tutors or speakers without whom the group could not carry out its purposes.

What your organisation does

The organisation promotes a variety of classes and courses for its members. These can be directly related to health issues, fitness awareness, mental health issues, depression, social isolation etc. or other courses such as healthy cooking, painting depending on requests from members. We also invite guest speakers on a variety of topics and

organise occasional outings to places of interest. We try to work with our local council, our local rural network and our local health trust to access funding and training and best practice for our group.
