Public benefits

The direct benefits which flow from our purpose our to: Provide opportunities for all children within the local and surrounding area, to engage in new learning play based experience that aim to enhance and stimulate their learning. We aim to insure the opportunities our age-appropriate resourced and advance the education of the beneficiaries in a

safe and satisfying environment. The group aim to support parents/carers to take responsibility for and to become involved in the activities of the group; and to promote the preservation of health of the beneficiaries; and to support the values and principles of Early Years. These benefits are evidenced through formal and informal feedback provided to the parents by each child,s key worker throughout the year. An annual inspection is carried out by the Social Services Trust which requests feedback from parents and this forms part of the report, also inspections from the department of education. There is no harm arising from these purposes The Charity’s beneficiaries are pre-school children aged from 2yr10mths to 4yrs within the local and wider area, without regard to religious affiliation or other beliefs of the families concerned A private benefit to Trustees may arise occasionally through attendance at training for management committees, including finance. Through this training Trustees may gain skills and experience which are transferable to other settings. These benefits are incidental and necessary to the provision of the benefit to our beneficiaries.

What your organisation does

The children who attend Littlehands Pre-school learn a great deal through play though nothing is taught formally. Through carefully planning and observations we can make sure that each child has the resources and time to learn through play. For example Personal social: Playing, socialising and working together to explore their world round

them. Physical: using a variety of small and large equipment in and outside play Art and world around us:developing imagination through role playing,exploring different medias of arts and crafts. Maths and Language: talking with peers and adults, developing conversations and extending vocabulary while using resources to extend their understanding of maths.

Charitable purposes

The Group is established to promote play based learning environments for all children under statutory school age, (hereinafter referred to as the beneficiaries) of the Antrim and its surrounding environs in County Antrim. (hereinafter called the 'area of benefit') without distinction of age, gender, marital status, disability, sexual orientation, nationality, ethnic identity, political or religious opinion, by associating the statutory authorities, community and voluntary organisations and the inhabitants in a common effort to advance education, and in particular: To advance the education of the beneficiaries by the provision of safe and satisfying group play, with the right of parents/carers to take responsibility for and to become involved in the activities of the group; and to promote the preservation of health of the beneficiaries; and to support the values and principles of Early Years.
