Cavehill Primary School PTA is an active organisation, which carries out a variety of activities and events throughout the year for the benefit of the school and wider community. The PTA organises social events for families and children of the school and the wider community, including Summer Fairs, Christmas Events, Parents’ Socials, and Movie
Nights. We also provide support at other school events that are held through the year, such as providing refreshments for parents and children at P1 open days, induction days and first day at school; MacMillan Coffee Mornings and Grandparents’ Day, among other events. Some of these events are fundraising and some are purely social to build positive relationships between parents and the school. As well as fundraising through events, we also source funds from external grant-making bodies. We work to support the school by targeting our fundraising, to raise money for items which will benefit every child and support their education while they are at the school. In the past, PTA fundraising has helped to develop an adventure playground and a bountiful allotment, both on the school grounds. Recently, PTA funds have helped to purchase new state of the art interactive learning AcitvPanels for the classrooms. External funds have helped to run after school classes, school counselling service, parent courses, Forest School initiatives and many more activities within the school. The activities of the PTA, and the funds raised, help to bring a shared spirit of co-operation between children, parents, teachers and the wider community.
