Public benefits

The Public Benefit flowing from purpose 1a is that voluntary activity and volunteering will reach out into the community. Community Groups will benefit by having volunteers to work in their projects and the public will benefit by being able to access these community activities serviced by volunteers. The Public Benefit flowing from 1b is that

local community organisations involved in a range of activities, dealing with people, supporting them to develop this work, thereby improving the quality of life for the inhabitants of Mid Ulster. The Public Benefit flowing from 2 is that community organisations will have access to training and mentoring for their volunteers, staff and committee members. This will be of major benefit to the organisations, but also to the public which they serve. Everyone will gain from this purpose. The Public Benefit flowing from purpose 3 is that members of community will be able to access personal development training in social and personal skills which will increase their ability to participate in the work of organisations which promote charitable activities in Mid Ulster. The public served by these groups will benefit from having a cohort of well trained volunteers who will be able to better deliver services both to individual, groups and the community at large. The benefits will be measured by the number of volunteers coming forward to register with the centre. It will also be measured by the number and variety of community organisations seeking help and support. Feedback will be sought from all groups using the services of the centre. All training sessions will be evaluated using the centres monitoring systems. The management committee will be informed about feedback and adjustments made to activities where necessary. There is no harm arising from the purposes. The charity's beneficiaries are individual volunteers, community and voluntary organisations and the general public in Mid Ulster. There is no private benefit flowing from any of the purposes.

What your organisation does

Mid Ulster Volunteer Centre provides support and co-ordination to volunteering in the Mid-Ulster area. It provides a link between 'those who need help' and 'those who want to help'. We promote volunteering opportunities and match suitable volunteers to these roles through a recruitment process. In addition to the recruitment and placement of

volunteers within the local community and voluntary groups we deliver and promote training to volunteers and volunteer involving organisations. The centre works in partnership with Community/Voluntary and Statutory organisations to help facilitate training relevant to local needs and requirements. Furthermore, the Volunteer Centre offers assistance on good practice guidance to local organisations. The Volunteer Centre is committed to representing a wide range of groups and individuals across Mid Ulster to encourage social inclusion and to help further personal development through volunteering and/or training.
