Public benefits

The direct benefits which flow from purpose 1 is that Beneficiaries will have advice and support that will help them in their daily lives, creating employment opportunities and relieving the feelings of isolation, anxiety and depression, therefore they will be more empowered within Northern Ireland. The direct benefit that flows from purpose 2 is

that beneficiaries will have more information on health and family support issues along with a range of recreational activities within Northern Ireland and this will help to improve holistic well being among the target beneficiaries. The direct benefit that flows from purpose 3 is to introduce the Roma arts, history, traditions, language and culture to Northern Ireland for the enjoyment and benefit of all within Northern Ireland. It will lead to the promotion the Roma culture, educating the wider society about Roma people and their culture, contributing towards wider good relations through the celebration of cultural diversity in NI. It is hoped that this will lead to the creation of greater community cohesion, reducing isolation, deprivation, anxiety and a negative living experience for Roma people in NI. The direct benefit that flows from purpose 4 is that there will be personal and social development form Roma people both individually and collectively, this will impact positively on capacity building, employment and holistic health and well being along with the advancement of cohesion, integration, tolerance and respect The direct benefit that flows from purpose 5 is that it promotes integration and a better understanding of different cultures and community cohesion and relieve feelings of isolation, anxiety and deprivation associated with living and integrating into a new country Purpose 1: These benefits can be demonstrated through a decrease in the amount of beneficiaries that are in need in Northern Ireland and by recording that outputs and outcomes of those who are seeking advice and support on a daily basis. Purpose 2: The benefits can be demonstrated through monitoring, evaluation, feedback and outcomes of a range of initiatives that will advanced under this purpose. Purpose 3: Participation levels at events and initiatives, monitoring, evaluation and feedback from participant at initiatives and projects that help to advance this purpose. Purpose 4: Participation levels at training, education and capacity building initiatives, monitoring, evaluation and feedback from participant at initiatives and projects that help to advance this purpose. Purpose 5: Participation levels at events, seminars and initiatives, monitoring, evaluation and feedback from participant at initiatives and projects that help to advance this purpose There is no harm flowing from these purposes The charities beneficiaries are the estimated 2300 Roma people living in Northern Ireland There is no private benefit flowing from these purposes

What your organisation does

The organisation carries out its purpose through addressing key priorities for the Roma community in Northern Ireland. these thematic priorities have been identified and agreed by the board based on the work that RRCANI is involved in either directly or as a delivery partner: • Education/ Training/ Capacity Building (Capacity

Building) • Cultural Promotion/ Good Relations (Cultural Diversity) • Community Safety/ Tension Monitoring (Community Safety) • Advice/ Advocacy • Youth/ Early Years (Young People) Advisory Members/ Stakeholder Support: The sub group structure will be advanced using traditional community development principles, each section will be driven by members of the RRCANI board and or volunteers, compartmentalizing the operational responsibilities of the organisation, empowering volunteers and building capacity within an action learning environment. In the short term these sub groups will require the mentoring and advisory support of community and statutory partners. Each sub group are in the process of developing a 12 month operation plan to advance services, support and projects based on the needs of the Roma people living in Northern Ireland. This process will involve comprehensive training needs analyses and capacity building processes along with the identification of resources required to drive forward delivery and advance the achievement of the organisational objectives on an ongoing basis.

Charitable purposes

The association is established to advance education, relieve poverty, protect and promote public health and to promote health and to promote the benefit of the inhabitants and community of Romanian origin and descent and their dependants (hereinafter called the "beneficiaries") resident in Northern Ireland (hereinafter called the "area of benefit") without distinction of age, gender, disability, sexual orientation, nationality, ethnic identity, political or religious opinion, by associating the statutory authorities, community and voluntary organisations and the beneficiaries in a common effort to advance education, promote and foster a community spirit in favour of equality and diversity and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation or other leisure-time occupation, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said beneficiaries and in particular: (a) to maintain and manage a centre or centres in the area of benefit for the activities promoted by the association (hereinafter called "the centre") (b) to advance education and encourage appreciation within the area of benefit in all matters relating to Romanian arts, history, traditions, language and culture thereby promoting good race relations in an effort to foster a sentiment in favour of equality and diversity. (c)to promote or assist in the promotion, facilitation and organisation of community capacity building programmes and projects for the benefit of the inhabitants within the area of benefit who have need of such assistance as a result of their youth, age, disability or infirmity, or social and economic circumstances, in an effort to increase the abilities, skills and self-confidence of such inhabitants; (d) to educate and assist the beneficiaries, and in particular but not exclusively children and young people aged between 3 and 18 through their leisure-time activities so as to develop their physical, mental, emotional and spiritual capacities that they may grow to full maturity as individuals and members of society and so that their conditions of life may be improved; (e) to advance any other exclusively charitable purpose as the Management Committee, may from time to time, decide in accordance with the law of charity
