Public benefits

The direct benefits which flow from the purposes, include access to housing, accommodation and other amenities and facilities and the alleviation of stress and anxiety that results from a lack of access to such facilities. This also includes promotion of family community life and independent living by increased provision of appropriate

accommodation and other services for those with disabilities or other complex needs and alleviation of stress and anxiety that results from a lack of access to such facilities. These benefits can be demonstrated through the visible provision of housing, accommodation and other facilities, through feedback from beneficiaries and their families and from the results of regular inspections by government departments and agencies such as DfC and RQIA. There is no harm identified arising from the Association's purposes. The beneficiaries are children and adults who have learning disabilities as well as the staff caring for such persons and their dependents in Northern Ireland. A private benefit to Trustees may arise from our ongoing programme of training in relation to governance and other issues, however, these benefits are incidental and necessary to ensure that the public benefit is delivered to beneficiaries.
