What your organisation does

It is completely local and independent of any other regional or national organisation. Age Concern Causeway provides a range of services for older

people: * Dementia Support Group - Our dementia support groups give people the opportunity to take part in a program comprising of cognitive stimulation, providing opportunity to recall or develop new skills. We encourage reminiscing and sharing life experiences, memories and stories from the past. One to One Dementia support- This service is for people who are not suitable for groups because of other issues such as mobility problems, incontinence, and other health issues. These individuals still needed support to improve their quality of life and help them to make positive changes. Staff will support people in their homes for 1 hour a week through engaging activities which encourage social skills and cognitive development. Meet & Eat - The aim of the social café is to provide a warm social space for over 55’s to meet and socialise. The groups provide them the opportunity to stay active in the community and a warm meal. * Charity shop - acts as a hub for older people to call in and enquire about services, raising funds and volunteer development.
