The direct benefits which flow from the purposes include: •Increased sense of wellbeing for the citizens of the Middletown area. •The creation of opportunities for social, educational and recreational activities leading to community development and welfare. •The maintenance of a purpose built community facility. •Encouragement to identify the

educational and social needs and practical assistance for elderly people and other disadvantaged or vulnerable people within the area of benefit. •Encouragement of community activity without distinction of age, gender, sexuality,, nationality, ethnic origin, political or religious opinion. The benefits outlined above are demonstrated by: •Increased numbers of citizens of the area of benefit using the facility for leisure time, sport and education. •Increased opportunities for leisure time with gatherings for bowls, birthday parties, music, singing and dancing. Increased membership of organisations, which use the facility. - Youth club, indoor bowls club, Irish dancing, martial arts club, GAA clubs etc. •The continued maintenance, repair and improvement of Middletown Market House facility. There is no evidence of harm arising out of the purposes of the organisation, The beneficiaries of the charity are; •The citizens of the Middletown area and beyond. •The senior citizens who attend the luncheon club and the Friendly club. •The people of the area of benefit who attend events/classes for singing, music. dancing, fitness training, martial arts, indoor bowls. Birthday parties and education events. There is no known private benefits arising from the activities of the charity,

Charitable purposes

(a) To promote the benefit of the inhabitants of Middletown and District without distinction of age, sex, sexual orientation, race, political, religious or other opinion, by associating the statutory authorities, voluntary organisations and inhabitants in a common effort to advance education and in the interests of social welfare to provide facilities for recreation and other leisure time occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life for the inhabitants. (b) To operate and manage the Middletown Market House (whether alone or in cooperation with any local authority or other person or body) in furtherance of these objects.
