Public benefits

The purposes of this charity is to establish, train and maintain groups of first responders to cover the rural areas of South Tyrone and North West Armagh. Further purpose involves, endeavouring to enhance and protect the life of those in need of first aid until an ambulance arrives. The direct benefits flowing from purpose 1 include that we will

be able to train and equip volunteers from our local communities, thus improving their skill base and helping them make a vital contribution to the community The direct benefits flowing from purpose 2 include that we will be providing a life saving service, through our charity, to our local community The benefits from purpose 1 are demonstrated through the fact that currently there is very little in the way of free life saving training for volunteers whom wish to be involved in this type of charity The benefits from purpose 2 are demonstrated through the fact that we anticipate that we as a charity will be able to respond to medical emergencies in our local communities with the aim of preserving and protecting life by means of the training provided There is a possibility of causing injury to patients whilst performing cardio pulmonary resuscitation, however it is well documented in all available data that the benefits massively outweigh any small potential of harm Our beneficiaries fall into two groups 1. The community in which we operate will be the main beneficiary from this initiative as our volunteers will be on hand to offer life saving skills to everyone 2. Our volunteers will benefit from free, comprehensive, Ambulance approved training . Private benefit will be gained by our volunteers in that they will receive training without personal cost that may be of value to volunteers in other paid workplace situations. This benefit is incidental and necessary in that we are obliged to offer such training as part of our commitments to Northern Ireland Ambulance Service and National Health Service resuscitation guidelines.
