Public benefits
The charitable recipients of grants from the Maureen Boal Charitable Trust benefit from the financial assistance given as this assistance enables them to carry out their work for the public benefit. The direct benefits flowing include the provision of counselling and comfort services to people who are sick or convalescent, the provision of
specialist advice, equipment, accommodation and care to those in need by reason of disability. Also the protection and promotion of the welfare of animals, the provision of animal sanctuaries and the re-homing of animals. The beneficiaries are mainly charities providing treatment for cancer patients, charities providing therapy and counselling programmes for sick and vulnerable people, charities providing disabled children and adults with equipment and charities providing accommodation and care to the terminally ill. Also charities providing care, protection and re-homing for stray and abandoned animals and charities providing training courses to the general public on animal welfare, re-homing and public education. These benefits can be demonstrated by feedback and reports from the various charities regarding the services provided, the people helped and their families, if appropriate. Also a reduction in the number of stray animals, an increase in the number of animals being re-homed through the existence and upkeep of sanctuaries and a reduction in the number of animals unnecessarily destroyed. The promotion of kindness to animals also promotes compassion in people. There is no harm arising from carrying out the purposes of the Maureen Boal Charitable Trust. There is no private benefit flowing from any of the purposes of the Maureen Boal Charitable Trust.
