The benefits which flow from preserving and protecting the mental and physical health of men who experience domestic abuse or relationship breakdown is that these men can play a greater role in society such as less days taken off work or play an important more positive role with their children, friends and family. The benefits of helping to

relieve distress and suffering of men who experience domestic abuse and relationship breakdown is that there can be a lessor reliance upon the health service in relation to support with mental health and also in providing men with the skills to help themselves and keep themselves well in relation to their own mental and physical health. The benefits of preserving and protecting the mental and physical health of men who experience domestic abuse or relationship breakdown is evidenced through feedback from our clients and ongoing evaluations and reflective practice of our services. What your organisation does

MAP works towards ending domestic violence or abuse and its impact on men, the family and society. We do this by providing specialist support in a wide range of areas to allow any person who has experienced abuse to understand their options, explore their rights and to develop a plan to live a life free from abuse and its impact. We offer services

of risk assessment and safety planning and 1-2-1 support - in person, on the telephone or by online means. We are a trauma informed and survivor led organisation with survivors of abuse in all areas of our organisation, we feel it is vital that the voice of survivors is always heard and their experiences felt, in all the work we undertake. We offer confidential 1-2-1 counselling or group counselling and personal development services. We are an important information and referral pathway for other statutory and non statutory services, supporting men and their families across N.I. We undertake extensive training and awareness raising sessions - to ensure that we can support others in their understanding of the abuse of men and boys. Finally we undertake advocacy and facilitate research. We are a Charity for all men experiencing the negative effects of domestic abuse. We also work to alleviate the impact abuse has on men, in its many forms.
