Meet Public Health Requirements - We aim to promote and support adults with a learning disability in Strabane, Newtownstewart, Castelderg abd Donemana Areas in a charitable way. This is a disadvantaged group of individuals who benefit from support by the advancement of their education, improvement in their health, development and inclusion in the

wider community, and by the advancement of their human rights and the promotion of equality. Direct Benefits: We support this disadvantaged group of individuals (adults with a Learning Disability), who attend Glenside Adult Training Centre, Club and live within the wider community, by providing day trips, equipment, training, social activities amongst other things. These individuals are provided with opportunities to develop new skills in education and the arts, to improve their health, to become more integrated into their local community. This results in advancement and promotion in equality, human rights and social inclusion. Advancements in education and training have seen many of our individuals working in local cafes, garden centres, library and shops. Individuals who have enjoyed participating in Music, Dance and Drama workshops have showcased their newly learnt talents through several Performances put on for parents,carers, family members, friends and the local community. Our Dance Group have also travelled to Belfast and taken part in a large showcase there. Individuals have expressed their delight and satisfaction at the different opportunities they have enjoyed and availed off, through the completion of questionnaires and annual Care Review Meetings. Parents and Carers have also supported this and have also noted improvements in health, mood, motivation, concentration and communication skills. No. Individuals are provided with supervision and assistance from fully qualified and training Health Care Staff at all times. Staff are employed by the Western Health and Social Care Trust and are provided with indepth training, on an annual basis, within several areas of practice and care - such as Safeguarding and Protection of Vulnerable Adults, Manual Handling, Management of Challenging Behaviour, Communication, Confidentiality and Data Protection, First Aid and the Safe Administraion of Medications, to name but a few. All volunteers and also trained in First Aid and the Safeguarding and Protection of Vulnerable Adults. Staff members and volunteers are fully vetted. Comprehensive Risk Assessments are also completed prior to any activity or outing provided, with controls measures identified and implemented if required. Adults with a Learning Disability who reside in the Strabane, Newtownstewart, Castelderg and Donemana Areas. The main focus of our organisation is to promote and support adults with a learning disability in our area in a charitable way, by raising funds through grants, fundraising activities and gifts, to help provide equipment, training and social activities/opportunities so that this disadvantaged group of individuals are stimulated, have greater

experiences and become integrated into the wider community. This improving their overall quality of life, while also promoting their human rights and equality.

Charitable purposes

Our group is established for the advancement of education and relief of individuals with a Learning Disability in Strabane and its environs, including Newtownstewart, Castlederg and Donemana. In particular clients who attend Glenside Adult Training Centre, residents of Iona House and other residences, by the provision of facilities for education, vocational training and recreation of the beneficiaries in the interests of social welfare, with the object of improving their condition of life.
