The direct benefits flowing from purpose 1 include the relief of poverty, hardship and distress through ensuring the provision of activities for individuals living in the top 20% deprived areas of the project. The direct benefits flowing from purpose 2 include improved knowledge, skills and health literacy through the provision of skills and

knowledge training for families and individuals living and working within the Project Are The direct benefits flowing from purpose 3 include improved access to physical space for activity and improved environment which meets the needs of individuals within the project area across the lifespan. Improved quality of life for older people through changes to practice which meets needs identified by the older population. The direct benefits flowing from purpose include improved practice, standards and knowledge to support health and wellbeing including mental and emotional wellbeing. The direct benefits from purpose 1 are demonstrated through evaluative processes using psychometric tools. The direct benefits from purpose 2 are demonstrated through evaluation of training programmes and information sessions. The direct benefits from purpose 3 are demonstrated through consultation with individuals, organisations and companies within the project area. The direct benefits from purpose 4 are demonstrated through the number of organisations across Northern Ireland who are adhering to service standards developed and supported through this purpose. What your organisation does

Manage World Health Organisation Designation for the Derry City and Strabane District to improve population health. Through this we facilitate, promote and support the development of local structures, frameworks and inter-agency / inter-sector working to promote health and wellbeing (e.g. civic alcohol, emotional wellbeing and suicide prevention

and homelessness forum, pioneering communities - early intervention programme, active city region) as well as tackling specific social problems e.g. drug & alcohol misuse, mental health, suicide prevention and emotional wellbeing; We Manage the Early Intervention Strategic Partnership in Derry & Strabane - an interagency procecss to ensure evidence based early intervention practice for children and young people. We Manage the CLEAR Project a partnership of NGO's setting standards for he delivery of community mental health service delivery throughout Northern Ireland. We manage the Bereaved by Suicide Project, which provides support to individuals bereaved through suicide to input to strategic discussions and strategy development e.g. through both local and regional Protect Life Implementation Groups. We manage the Age Friendly Process for both the Derry and Strabane District Council area and the Limavady Area. This is part of a global effort to address the challenges of demographic ageing and urbanisation. This process puts older people at the heart designing an Age Friendly Region. We manage the CLEAR project a partnership of NGO's providing community development support and capacity building through a range of training programmes relating to mental health, suicide prevention and emotional wellbeing; the administration of 2 small grant schemes one for the community and voluntary sector in general and the other specifically targeting sports clubs; provide support for Bereaved by Suicide Support Groups; We support development of population health improvement in workplaces

Charitable purposes

The Charity’s objects (“Objects”) are specifically restricted to the following: The protection, preservation and promotion of good health amongst the inhabitants residing principally in the Derry and Strabane areas and throughout Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland (“hereinafter called the “area of benefit”) by associating the statutory authorities, relevant agencies, community and voluntary organisations, businesses, academic institutions and the inhabitants in a common effort to work towards alleviating health inequalities and in particular, but not exclusively, to: (a) promote a more positive and inclusive attitude to health from policy and planning by initiating and encouraging inter-agency and inter-sector working and supporting and developing practical initiatives; (b) advance education relating to the benefits of good health and to the implications of poor health through the provision of advice information, guidance, support and training; (c) promote and encourage public participation in healthy exercise and physical activity; (d) promote, develop and support those organisations offering health care services and support in the area of benefit.
