Public benefits

The direct benefit which flows from this purpose is that of improved physical health, development of relationships with peers & elders for the children & young people who participate & improved community life through sports, namely Gymnastics. These benefits are evidenced through attendance sheets of members attending the club for training &

competitions & through feedback obtained from members, parents/guardians & club volunteers. Regarding potential harm flowing for this benefit; participation in sporting activities always carries a risk of injury, however ensuring that participants are fit & wearing the proper protective equipment i.e. hand guards / Pits & engaging in suitable warm up activities mitigates the risk & allows the child or young person to fully enjoy & benefit from the activity. Our club is covered by insurance, all our coaches are fully qualified for what they teach, Accessni checked & we keep a first aid kit on the premises at all times & a nominated first aider. The beneficiaries of this purpose are members who are young people aged from 5 - 25 years of age, volunteers & women from all the Greater Shantallow Area, the wider Derry City & Strabane district council & Donegal. The only possible private benefit arising from this is from time to time our coaches may avail of professional coaching courses to enhance their level of qualification. However this benefit is incidental as we require training in order to ensure the safe & professional standards in training our gymnasts.
