Formed in 20th March 2003, Adullam Christian Ministries is a non-for profit, cross-community, non-denominational, church based organisation. We aim to bring about reconciliation work and activities, for the benefit and future of our communities, by working alongside other churches/volunteers within our communities. Our organisation is currently
in the process of registering with the Charity Commission Northern Ireland. Our mission is to support the community by alleviating a number of problems within the community. This involves running activities which; alleviate poverty issues; address homelessness; facilitate conflict resolution through peaceful means, develop projects that directly address conflict/sectarian issues involving all age groups and peer groups. The current activities which we use to help meet our objectives include the following: • A listening and pastoral clinic reaching out to the local community over all denominations/traditions/cultures etc., providing help with housing applications, emergency loans, referrals to drug/alcohol abuse clinics, assistance with single mothers etc. • Conflict resolution and cross community discussions and events of a confidential nature to help reduce tensions on community interface areas at times of necessity, aimed at forwarding the peace process. • Adullam has established networks with district managers of the NIHE throughout Northern Ireland with the purpose of addressing homeless issues as they present themselves on a daily basis. • Alcohol/addictive substance abuse support for people with substance misuse problems. • Adullam is presently actively working on a project called ‘The Believe Centre’ which is a proposed drug and alcohol rehabilitation centre in the North Antrim Coast.
