Killeeshil Community Centre Association was established to promote and provide educational, cultural, social, and recreational needs for the Killeeshil area and wider area. The objective of the association is to address the lack of accessible community facilities and services in the area through the maintenance of an appropriate multi- purpose
community facility The direct benefit of which flows from purpose 1 (citizenship and community development) is to provide a central location for the local community to come together and assist in the development of the community and wider community as a whole for present and future generations to enjoy. By arranging drama, singing, dancing, job club and exercise classes all in the hope that social inclusion is promoted along with community volunteering. Also to promote health and well- being e.g. Open Door Club which promotes social intervention for elderly people in the area. Killeeshil Community Centre Association works closely with statutory bodies, voluntary and community organisations and local residents in a common effort to promote citizenship and community development. These benefits are demonstrated through community events such as the annual St Patricks Family Day, BBQ’s, Cycle Sportive, Tractor Run, Halloween activities, Country Music Festival and Christmas Fair which all provide social inclusion for up to 700 to 800 families within the Killeeshil and wider area. Killeeshil Community Centre Association encourage feedback from all users by using evaluations, suggestion box, Killeeshil Community Centre’s web site and use of social media in the hope that we gain an insight to what the community is looking for. We also hold information meetings, publish annual AGM and invite people to sit on the committee and participate in workshops, in the hope to gain an insight to what the community wants from Killeeshil Community Centre. The charities beneficiaries are the people of Killeeshil and the wider area, and its environs of Northern Ireland without distinction of age, gender, disability, sexual orientation, nationality, ethnic identity, political or religious opinion, by associating the statutory authorities, community and voluntary organisations and the inhabitants in a common effort to advance citizenship and community development, with the object to improve the conditions of life for the said inhabitants.
