Public benefits
The Committee believes that the direct benefits which ensue from the purposes are the advancement of good Community Relations in the area and the opportunities to partake in recreational activities which combat isolation and encourage positive participation in the wider community. Volunteers also benefit by enhancing their skills and feeling valued
in the area. The benefits are evidenced in the excellent community relationships and the strong sense of pride in the culture and heritage of the area; the high attendance numbers and by the positive feedback given by locals, visitors and media. Some private benefit is obtained by the owners of local businesses who receive greater levels of customers, but this is ancillary to the main purpose and is greatly outweighed by the gains in public benefit. No harm arises from these purposes.
