Public benefits

The public benefits that flow from purpose (1) are: (a) enhanced educational and skill attainment, capabilities and capacities; (b) improved potential to secure employment or self-employment; (c) enriched quality of life and sense of well-being through engagement with and participation in creative and artistic events and activities; (d) the

development of creative ideas, technical processes and collaborative projects. The beneficiaries are: (i) those seeking to develop their knowledge, skills and abilities as musicians or presentation, production and management personnel; (ii) members of the public who benefit from these enhanced skills and abilities as a result of attending performances and events. These benefits can be evidenced through records kept by the Charity of the progress of trainees, feedback from the trainees and from attendees at performances and events in which current and former trainees are involved. No harm arises from this purpose. Some private benefit may be gained by the trainees, but this is purely incidental and is greatly outweighed by the public benefit arising from this purpose. The benefits that arise from purpose (2) are: (a) increased opportunities for the public to access the arts as a result of an extended range of activities and events taking place; (b) raised awareness, understanding and appreciation by the public of music and related arts; (c) enhanced inclusion and access to cultural experiences, particularly among marginalised groups in society; (d) enhanced activity, engagement and participation in social activities by the beneficiaries, leading to improvements in their health, well-being and quality of life. The beneficiaries are members of the public of all ages. These benefits can be evidenced through data on the number of people attending or participating in activities, events or performances, feedback from the beneficiaries, and evaluations of the work and impact of the Charity. No harm or private benefit arises from this purpose.

Charitable purposes

(1) Encourage and promote the education and career development of people of all ages and backgrounds in the art and business of music performance, presentation, production and management by providing: (a) training in music performance, songwriting, music technology, DJing, sound engineering and lighting, management and other related areas; (b) equipment and facilities, including instruments and recording and rehearsal studios; (c) opportunities for musicians, aspiring musicians and artists in related fields to engage in critical debate, share ideas and facilitate their professional development. (2) Promote arts and culture by: (a) establishing and managing a Centre for Music as a cultural and social amenity; (b) facilitating the presentation of concerts, performances and cultural exchange visits; (c) encouraging appreciation of and participation in the art of music.
