We provide support services and activities for former members in County Armagh. We create conditions of healing and recovery whereby members can become active within their community. Improve the quality of life of victims of paramilitary terrorism. Increase the self esteem and confidence of our members. Increased social activities and integration
of members who have felt isolated since leaving military service. Giving members back some pride in their service and interest in preserving our history and telling our story. Decreasing the levels of anxiety, fear, mistrust and isolation through meeting together and discussing these concerns and accepting the need to learn a new lifestyle and make the transition from victim to survivor. Footnote. The AAVWG has not carried out any funded activity for some years. This is because we were able to avail of funded events organised by sister organisations such as County Armagh Phoenix Group and FACT and also the Regimental Association of the Royal Irish Regiment Armagh Branch. We decided that as our members were already getting funded in this way, it would be improper to apply for even more funding for members. For this reason we did not apply for any funding since the year 2012-2013
