Public benefits

Purpose 1 To bring Pipe Band music into Ballygawley, and its surrounding area for the people to enjoy. The direct benefits which flow from purpose 1 include the enrichment of the cultural lives of the general public of Ballygawley and the surrounding area with pipe band music and musical performances. These benefits will be demonstrated through

feedback from the general public that have listened to and attended to public performances and feedback from band members on playing pipe band music and performing in the band. This purpose will not lead to any harm The charity’s beneficiaries are the general public in the Ballygawley and surrounding area. There is no private benefit from this purpose. Purpose 2 To encourage people to have the opportunity to learn to play the pipes and drums, and to be a part of the Band. New members are welcome in order to keep up the pipe band tradition that has been established in Ballygawley and is well respected and cherished. The direct benefits which flow from purpose 2 include a good standard to musicianship attained by members of the public and band. These benefits will be demonstrated through participating of tuition and practice organised by the band as well as feedback on the enjoyment and approval of the general public on listening to public performances. This purpose will not lead to any harm. The charity’s beneficiaries are the general public in Ballygawley and the surrounding area. The only private benefits flowing from this purpose are the personal development of musical skills by individuals that can be used in higher educational attainment at school in the subject of music and also private hire of individuals for musical performances. These are incidental and necessary as each individual band members will need to acquire these musical skills to be able to play with other band members as a band. Purpose 3 To promote all Ulster Scots traditions and culture, and in particular pipe band music. The direct benefits which flow from purpose 3 include the enrichment of the cultural lives of the general public of Ballygawley and the surrounding area with Ulster Scots traditions, music and culture. These benefits are demonstrated through feedback from members of the band and the general public on any public performances and other activities organised by the band. This purpose will not lead to any harm. The charity’s beneficiaries are the general public in Ballygawley and the surrounding areas. There is no private benefit from this purpose.

Charitable purposes

Lisbeg Pipe Band aims to bring Pipe Band music into Ballygawley and the clogher valley area for the people to enjoy. Lisbeg Pipe band also encourages young people to have the opportunity to learn to play the pipes and drums, and to be a part of the Band. New members are welcome in order to keep up the pipe band tradition that has been established in Ballygawley and is well respected and cherished. Lisbeg Pipe Band actively promotes all Ulster Scots traditions and culture and in particular pipe band music.
