What your organisation does

Brassneck Theatre Company aims play to an integral part in West Belfast society. By producing quality theatre, we are contributing to the re-imaging of West Belfast by breaking the pre-conceptions that exist about this part of our city. The company is focused on the development of new writing from its firm West Belfast roots, addressing themes of

identity, history, culture and religious and racial tolerance. Brassneck Theatre Company is also highly committed to making theatre accessible to all by touring extensively throughout Ireland and by performing in both traditional and non-traditional venues Recently, Brassneck Theatre Company expanded its remit to facilitate affordable and accessible youth acting classes. A key priority of the company is ensuring the accessibility of theatre throughout the human lifecycle, from promoting access to theatre at an early stage through education as well as opportunities for young people to train for those who may be considering a career in the arts.

Charitable purposes

The objects of the Company shall be to advance the public education, appreciation and understanding of the arts, particularly the art of theatre in all its aspects, by: (1) the production and presentation of the theatrical, educational and community-based performance particularly in West Belfast but also in other areas; (ii) devising, performing and producing original theatre work: (iii) working with young people and adults as performers, writers and technicians: (iv) providing tuition in various skills of the performing arts
