Public benefit The benefit is that all our children year on year are provided with a safe, caring and stimulating environment. Millburn playgroup offer pre-school children an education regardless of their background. The playgroup is a place for pre-school children to come and play, have fun while they learn. This enhances the development and

education of pre-school children in a mixed environment with every individual child’s needs being met. How benefit is demonstrated Feedback is received from parents at the end of each term and parents have access to a suggestion box, parent interviews are held prior to each term time. Is there any harm This purpose does not lead to harm. Beneficiaries The benefit is for children at Millburn Community Pre-school Playgroup. Private benefit Charity Trustees (Committee Members) are usually also parents at the playgroup which their children attend and hence gain benefit in the same way as all other beneficiaries. The benefit is incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to all beneficiaries.

What your organisation does

Millburn Community Playgroup provides quality learning and education. Children are enrolled in their pre-school year and are offered a wide range of activities in order to enhance their learning and skills to prepare them for school. The curriculum is designed to target each stage of their learning but also identifies that each child is unique

when learning. A child's learning and motor skills is assessed through out each term and at the end of each term the parents are given a scrap book showing all the work their child has done that year.

Charitable purposes

The charity's objects are specifically restricted to the following: To promote play based learning enviroments for all children under statutory school age, (hereinafter referred to as the beneficiaries) of the Millburn Estate and its surrounding environs in Coleraine (hereinafter called the 'area of benefit') without distinction of gender, disability, nationality, ethnic identity, political or religious opinion, by associating the statutory authorities, community and voluntary organisations and the inhabitants in a common effort to advance education, and in particular: a. To advance the education of the beneficiaries by the provision of safe and satisfying group play, with the right of parents/carers to take responsibility for and to become involved in the activities of the group; and to promote the preservation of health of the beneficiaries; and b. To support the values and principles of Early Years.
