Public benefits

The direct benefits which flow from the purpose include the development of individual capabilities, competences and skills in children with ASD (Autistic Spectrum Disorders). Also improved health outcomes and reduced levels of stress and anxiety amongst families living with autism and increased protection and preservation of their health. The

expectation is that each child will experience a breakthrough, a step change in managing their autism in terms of achieving developmental, functional and behavioural gains and in terms of developing independence, self-confidence and social skills. Adam's Camp NI seeks to develop the potential of all members of the family during that one week of summer camp. The possible of harm for example by physical injury due to a fall or accident participating of recreational activities is outweighed by the benefit and significantly reduced by the policies and procedures in place to address such risks. For example Safeguarding and Child protection, general safety and risk management procedures including risk assessment of all activities. The beneficiaries of this purpose are predominantly the families living in Northern Ireland with children who have been diagnosed with ASD. The places are filled by the first ten families to register on line as long the Camp can meet their needs.
