Public benefits
Edenderry Rural Community Group believes the direct public benefits which flow from our purpose are to improve the quality of life and well being of residents from the rural area, reducing feelings of social isolation, poverty and marginalisation. There is no private benefit to anyone and the educational and recreational programmes, Field
Trips, Projects and Events which we provide promotes health and well-being. Our participants provide us with feedback of the benefits to them and this feedback also helps us to improve further the quality of life for those living in this rural area of Tyrone on the hinterland of Omagh Town.

Edenderry Rural Community Group's main activities are to provide a range of educational, recreational and social activities for the rural community so that the area will become a safe place where people want to live in a shared community, cultural diversity is welcomed and good relations will be a part of everyday life where we will pull together
as a team, help and support our neighbours and build friendships on meaningful and sustained interaction. As a group we also aim to increase the confidence and capacity of its members to help create a rural community which is committed to establishing a network of support with external agencies to help improve community development, relieve feelings of isolation by encouraging and promoting activities and events which will increase community development and inclusivity. All our activities and events are organised by unpaid volunteers for the benefit of the local community. We provide these activities and events by our fundraising efforts and grants received and this voluntary community development service is provided on a non-profit basis.
