Public benefits
The direct benefits which flow from this purpose are the provision of equipment, facilities, funding as well as consultative advice for rowing at Coleraine Grammar School (which was formed by the merger of the Coleraine Academical Institution and Coleraine High School legacy schools in 2015). This benefits the pupils in Coleraine Grammar School by
advancing their physical education, health and wellbeing. The provision of extra equipment and facilities that would not otherwise be available enables greater participation in the amateur sport of rowing and the pupils gain the advantages of a competitive edge as well as increased self-esteem, independence, leadership skills and morale; all of which enables them to grow as more rounded individuals and prepares them for life beyond school. There should also be benefit to the whole school and the wider community as a consequence of the pupils gaining more confidence, discipline, inter-personal skills and respect for themselves and others through participation in the rowing club. These benefits are evidenced through the provision of equipment, facilities, funding and advice for Coleraine Grammar School Rowing club, as well as feedback from regular meetings with the school staff. The effectiveness of the fundraising is subject to ongoing evaluation by the Trustees and the company AGM.
