Public benefits
Purpose 1: To promote the preservation and use of vintage vehicles, farm equipment, and any other vintage equipment. Purpose 2: To encourage and initiate social contact (especially cross community contact) between all persons without discrimination of age, sex, race political or other opinion. The direct benefits which flow from this purpose are
making this vintage equipment available for the enjoyment and education of members of the public. It also brings people together irrespective of their religious, political or other opinion to a neutral venue to enjoy a cross-community event and to share a common interest in rural agricultural and farming life. These benefits are evidenced by the number of people coming to the Annual Show and other events who gain an understanding and appreciation of this vintage equipment. Further benefits are evidenced through the number of friendships that are established by people participating in the Annual Show and other activities throughout the year. The large number of volunteers involved each year also demonstrates that people are willing to become more involved in their local community. There is no harm flowing for any of our purposes. The charity’s beneficiaries are primarily people living in rural areas of County Down but the Annual Show attracts people from many other areas of Northern Ireland. There is no private benefit flowing from any of our purposes.
