Public benefits

The direct benefit to the public which flows from promoting, music, and advancing education in the arts, is to improve the quality of life of the public, practitioners and participants, by • making quality music performances and education projects available to the public leading to increased public awareness and satisfaction; • providing services

in support of, and commissioning the work of local musicians, composers and educators allowing them to continue to develop their skills by working together to produce music for the public enjoyment; and • giving more people the opportunity to participate by removing barriers to attendance at such performances for example by producing more local events and/or under-represented artists/music genres. The main beneficiaries are the public of Northern Ireland and beyond including artists and musicians, audience members and participants. The benefit is demonstrated by an annual artistic programme which features tours, clustered events, special events, festivals, workshops and outreach projects, commissions for composers, partnerships with arts organisations, artists and venues. Benefits can be demonstrated through direct and indirect feedback with the beneficiaries and there is no harm emanating from these purposes.

What your organisation does

Annually the company presents/promotes a variety of music events in the form of tours, concerts, clustered events and festivals to Belfast and Northern Ireland venues and arts spaces that are accessible to all the population of the region. The artists featured in these events often have a national or an international profile and they may be from

abroad or from these islands. We are keen to provide high quality events that without our intervention would not otherwise happen in the region. We support local musicians and composers through commissions, mentoring schemes, training, showcases opportunities and platforms. We also support young people through education workshops and outreach projects which aim to provoke curiosity in music for the first time, nurture existing interest in music, or assist with professional development. These activities deliver our current Mission which is to achieve excellence through stimulating music development in NI throughout the next five years.
