Public benefits

1. To promote the preservation of health of the people of The Gambia West Africa. The direct benefits that flow from this purpose are reduction of illness and mortality rates especially among children. These benefits can be evidenced through local government figures and figures obtained from local community clinics. This purpose may lead to the

following harm, illness among volunteers who go to Gambia to fulfil this purpose. This harm is outweighed by the benefits and minimised by giving each volunteer appropriate health advise and each volunteer getting medical advise and medication from their own general practitioner. The charity's beneficiaries are the people of The Gambia West Africa. 2. To advance education among children in The Gambia West Africa. The direct benefit of this purpose is to the children of The Gambia who otherwise may not be able to attend school due to lack of funding from their own families. These benefits will be evidenced by end of year school reports and each child's progression through school. There is no foreseeable harm from this purpose. 3. To relieve poverty and hunger for the people of The Gambia West Africa. The direct benefit of this purpose is to the people of The Gambia West Africa who will benefit from donations given to them by the charity. These benefits can be evidenced through photographs taken of people receiving clothing or other charitable donation. This purpose may lead to illness among volunteers but outweighed by the benefits and minimised by appropriate medical advise and medication.

Charitable purposes

The Association is established to support any charitable project in The Gambia, West Africa and to promote the preservation of health of the people without distinction of age, gender, disability, sexual orientation, nationality, ethnic identity, political or religious opinion who are in need of assistance as a result of their poverty or social and economic circumstances and in particular to: a. advance education by the provision of educational faculties in the interests of social welfare for recreation or other leisure-time occupation, with the object of improving the conditions of life for beneficiaries b. relieve poverty and hunger by any charitable means c. promote the preservation of health of the people by the provision of resources as determined necessary by the committee
